What type of power steering fluid should I use for a 2018 Ram 1500?

The 2018 Ram 1500 doesn't need any power steering fluid since it features an electric power steering system. This system employs an electric motor to assist with steering, and the motor gets its power from the vehicle's battery. The motor moves a metal rod based on the position of the steering wheel. Positioned on top of the rack and pinion, the motor pushes the tie rod ends in and out according to the steering wheel’s direction. Unlike the 2500 and 3500 models, which use hydraulic power steering systems requiring ATF +4 automatic transmission fluid, the power steering system in the 1500 does not need regular maintenance.
