The factory speakers in a 2011 Chevy Silverado are a unique size, but you can use an aftermarket 6 ¾-inch speaker as a close replacement. To install the new speakers, you will need to purchase an adapter plate that will allow for the use of various speaker sizes, including 6 ¾ inches and smaller. Removing the door panel is necessary to access the screw that secures the speaker in place. You'll need a 10-millimeter socket and ratchet with an extension, a flat blade screwdriver, and a pair of needle-nose pliers for this task. Start by removing the three plastic trim pieces: the triangular one located near the mirror, the thin one above the interior door handle, and the piece just below it. Use a screwdriver to gently pry these pieces out. Behind them, you'll find several 10 millimeter bolts that need to be removed. Once the bolts are taken out, you can carefully pry the panel away from the door.
