If your Ford Fusion is making a loud noise from the engine, it could be due to a faulty or dying sensor. This might cause the engine to receive incorrect information, leading to an excessive or insufficient amount of fuel being delivered. Consequently, the engine may run roughly and noisily. Another possible culprit for the loud noise could be worn or failing spark plugs. Faulty spark plugs might cause the vehicle to misfire, resulting in a louder running engine. My suggestion would be to start by replacing the spark plugs. Generally, it's recommended to change your spark plugs every 20,000 to 40,000 miles.
