The Chevy Equinox power steering recall is specifically targeting the 2010 to 2012 models due to a system leak causing friction issues. If you notice low power steering fluid, it's important to replace it. To do so, start by locating the clear plastic fluid container under the hood near the window. Then, use a pump to extract all the fluid from the container. As the fluid level drops, turn the steering wheel all the way to each side to drain the remaining fluid into the container. Once the container is empty, refill it up to the full line without overfilling. After refilling, it may take a bit of driving, about 20 minutes, for the steering wheel to become more responsive.
