In gist, there was a recall for the instrument clusters on specific 2003 to 2006 General Motors vehicles, such as the Chevrolet Silverado, due to a high number of speedometer failures, often occurring at low mileage. The recall stemmed from a legal action against GM settled in November 2008 in a Seattle court. Vehicles less than 7 years old had their instrument clusters replaced at no cost for parts, while labor was an additional expense. If your vehicle falls within the affected model years of 2003 to 2006, you would have had to cover both parts and labor costs after 2010. However, as of 2021, it is too late to benefit from this recall.

Some versions of the Chevy Silverado produced from 2003 to 2006 were called back because of faulty speedometers.
