I have experience working on different types of engines - V6, V8, every kind of 4-cylinder, from 1985 models to the present. I am surprised when you mentioned spark plugs popping off. I have seen them being stuck from extreme heat or snapped while trying to remove them, but never just popping off causing a fire. While it could happen in a crash or due to a fuel line failure, I haven't witnessed an engine catching fire from overheating alone. I am not trying to belittle anyone, but misunderstandings like this one are what makes my wife mistakenly think she knows what she's talking about. Having accurate knowledge or providing detailed explanations is crucial. I can already imagine her calling me at work claiming her spark plug popped off, leading to her engine catching fire because she smelled something.. haha
