The Ford Excursion can reach a maximum speed of 116 mph and boasts 314 horsepower. Enhancing its performance can be achieved through various popular upgrades such as ECU tuning, adding a performance cold air intake, and upgrading the exhaust system. Modifying your ECU through chip tuning allows for adjustments in the engine's fuel efficiency and torque. The cost of a performance tune typically ranges from $400 to $800. By installing a cold air intake system, you can increase your engine's horsepower by 5 to 20 HP. A cold air intake acts as a sort of magic elixir for your engine, enabling it to breathe better. It relocates the air filter outside the engine compartment to draw in cooler air, which is crucial for enhancing performance. The primary objective of a cold air intake is to introduce colder air, providing more oxygen and consequently more power to the engine.

My father's truck is currently reaching a speed of 175 miles per hour, but there seems to be a problem with the muffler leaking and he can't pinpoint the exact location. So, he's planning to take a fast drive on the freeway, pushing it up to at least 110 mph to identify the problem.

Hold on, I believe I might own the fastest 5.4 Excursion. It's currently tuned on 93 octane, but I plan on switching to E85 fuel soon. The truck is modified with deleted parts, MSD coils and plugs, K&N fuel and air filters, as well as an exhaust system. I managed to reach 150mph, but you just have to push through the vibrations at 85mph, and once you hit 90mph, you're good to go.
