When the tailgate fails to fully open, emits beeps, and closes on its own, the sensor is likely to blame. Insufficient lubrication is another common culprit; if the sensor detects an obstacle, it will close the tailgate. Inadequately lubricated pistons can trigger false obstacle readings. Additionally, a malfunctioning motor could be the root cause. If the tailgate doesn't respond to commands, a faulty motor might be the issue. While motor replacement can be costly, it should resolve the problem in the long term.
