When you lift the hood of your Ford Fiesta, a switch is triggered to display a warning on the dashboard indicating that the hood is open. Once you close the hood, the switch should indicate that the hood is now closed. The sensor includes a micro switch that opens and closes. If the warning message suggests the hood is open when it's actually closed, it may be due to a faulty micro switch. Typically, you will need to replace the entire hood latch in order to replace the switch.

The warning for the Ford Fiesta hood only activates when the hood is opened. If the warning light turns on, find a safe place to stop and inspect the hood to ensure it is securely closed. Once you have properly shut the hood, the warning light should go off.
