In the 2008 Ford F-250, you can locate the alternator fuse near the steering wheel. To access the fuse box, look to the left of the steering wheel and search for a small seam or crack along the dashboard. You can use a screwdriver or prybar to open it up. Inside, you will find a series of fuses. Check the back of the panel you opened for a diagram that indicates the purpose of each fuse. If it's not there, you can refer to the vehicle's owner's manual. Once you determine which fuse you need, simply remove it. A good fuse will have a thin strip of metal connecting the two raised sections. If this strip is broken, the fuse needs to be replaced. If the strip is intact, you can reinstall the fuse. New fuses typically cost around $10, so they are relatively inexpensive.
