The bank 1 sensor 1 in a 2003 Toyota Sienna is situated on the side of the engine where the number one cylinder is located and before the catalytic converter. The number one cylinder is towards the rear of the engine, closest to the firewall. You may notice signs such as increased fuel usage and excess smoke from the exhaust if this sensor is faulty. This oxygen sensor monitors the oxygen levels in the engine's exhaust gases. It is recommended to replace the oxygen sensor every 60,000 to 90,000 miles as it is a component that wears out and can malfunction with time.
