The Ford Transit's battery is situated beneath the driver's seat. In the event that the battery loses power, you can jump-start it by accessing the battery terminals located on the driver's side in the engine compartment. To replace the battery, start by moving the driver's seat backward and taking off the plastic screw covers and rail stop bolts. These bolts require a T40 TorxBit to remove. Once you've done that, slide the seat fully forward. The battery is covered by a panel that can be removed using an A5/16" socket wrench. Loosen the bolts connecting the battery terminals, then carefully lift out the battery using the handles.

Is it possible for me to jump start my Ford Transit 2.2 Engine by attaching the jump starter cables to my van's leads without disconnecting them from the battery? I want to avoid causing any damage to the van. Also, can I still listen to the radio in the van while doing this?
