In a Mercedes, the battery is located beneath the front passenger seat. If your battery dies, you can jump-start it using the battery terminals located in the engine compartment on the driver's side. To replace the battery, you'll need to first take out the back of the driver's seat and remove the plastic screw covers and rail stop bolts. Removing the battery may be tricky, and you'll need to push the seat all the way back for access. A new battery typically costs between $150 to $250, depending on the brand and quality. The recommended battery type is labeled as group size B13 with 720 cold cranking amps.
