Many older models of the Ram 1500 do not come with a cabin air filter, but newer models do. If your vehicle has one, you can locate it behind a black plastic panel inside the glove box. While it's feasible to install an aftermarket filter if your car doesn't have one, it's generally advised against. The cost of professional installation isn't justified, and attempting it yourself could damage your HVAC system.

The spot where you can find the cabin air filter in a dodge Ram 1500 is typically behind the glove box under the dashboard, or occasionally at the rear under the vehicle's hood.

This Nick dude doesn't have a clue. I own a 2013 Tradesman (basic truck) and I managed to put in a cabin air filter in just 30 minutes. That's even with removing the glove box to get access. It's pretty easy to see where the filter goes on the duct work, so it's hard to mess up. The filter kit only cost $40, and chances are your wife has all the tools you'll need.

It seems that Nick is right - I have a 16GB RAM and there is no cabinet filter available for it, which doesn't make sense.

My air conditioner stopped working properly because my two dogs' hair got sucked in and completely blocked the evaporator. I removed the fan and used a small tube attached to a shop vac along with an endoscope to see and clean out the blockage. After about 30 minutes of cleaning, I cut open the shape of the filter access and installed a filter retrofit kit. It took around an hour and a half to complete the entire process, but now my air conditioning works like new! The effort was definitely worth it.

The expert at providing answers doesn't know what they're talking about. The installation is straightforward and the kit costs $35. HVAC parts are not damaged in any way.
