The 2004 Dodge Ram doesn't come with a cabin air filter, unlike newer trucks which usually have one located either under the dashboard or under the hood. Many people find a cabin air filter important for maintaining a clean and healthy interior by preventing dust, dirt, and allergens from getting inside. It also helps protect the HVAC system by preventing clogs and damage to the fan and ducts. It's crucial to remember to change the cabin air filter as part of your regular vehicle maintenance, with most manufacturers recommending replacement every 15,000 to 30,000 miles to ensure cleanliness inside your vehicle.

The 2004 Dodge RAM 2500 model does not come with a built-in cabin air filtration system. As a proud owner of a 2004 Dodge RAM 2500 for 16 years, I can confidently affirm that there is no cabin air filter located "behind the glovebox" or "under the hood towards the rear end".

I tried twice, but couldn't find a suitable spot to install a cabin filter on my Dodge 2004 ST model with a 5.9 Cummins engine. Therefore, I removed the filter and cover kit.

I've found out that there isn't a cabin filter in my car, and I'm frustrated because I've been paying for a replacement every few years. Every time I bring my vehicle in for service, they claim it needs to be replaced soon based on a yellow indicator, and I always end up being pressured to buy one. It's a small part and labor cost, but this situation has really irked me. I ended up replacing the air filter myself and realized there isn't even a cabin filter in the first place. The auto repair shops need to be more transparent about these things!

I have at last discovered that there is no cabin air filter in my vehicle! For years, I've been shelling out money periodically to have the cabin air filter replaced. Each time they inspect my car, they claim there is a yellow warning indicating the need for a replacement soon, and they push me to buy one. Even though it may be a small cost for parts and labor, I'm fed up with this situation! After I replaced the air filter myself (and saw that they hadn't even properly closed the casing), I investigated further and found out there is no cabin filter at all. The auto repair shops really need to improve their practices!
