The 2014 Jeep Wrangler coolant temperature sensor is located in the coolant pipe beneath the air intake pipe. It constantly monitors the engine coolant temperature and sends this information to the engine control unit and temperature gauge. This ensures that the vehicle operates within the recommended temperature range set by the manufacturer. If the temperature exceeds this limit, the sensor alerts the driver of potential cooling system issues. A faulty sensor can result in the car running too cold or overheating, potentially causing engine damage. The typical cost to replace the engine coolant temperature sensor in a Jeep Wrangler is around $88 to $120.

On the Jeep Wrangler JK, the coolant temperature sensor can be found on the back corner of the engine on the driver's side, just above the exhaust. The sensor part number W0133-2008726-MPR or its aftermarket equivalent is the correct fit. In my family, we have two 2014 Jeep Wrangler JKs. Around 70,000 miles, both vehicles display the P0128 trouble code. If your Jeep isn't overheating, this sensor is likely the culprit. You can access it through the driver's front fender well.
