As you sit in the driver's seat of your Nissan Rogue, take a look to the left of the steering wheel and behind the dash, and you'll spot the OBD-II connector there, framed by a white border and easily accessible. One of my smart purchases was an OBD-II dongle that I ordered from Amazon. You can snag one for less than $20, and sometimes even for under $10, though there have been some reported issues at that lower price point (such as being difficult to remove). What's great is that the accompanying app works on any iPhone or Android device, or you can opt for a third-party one like Torque Pro. Either way, you can plug in something like a tablet and have a more advanced scan tool than those old-school plastic versions with tiny screens that used to cost around $75. Pretty cool, right?
