In the 2003 Ford F-150, the powertrain control module (PCM) can be found beneath the dashboard behind the passenger's side kick panel. However, the connector is only reachable from the engine bay, so you cannot detach it from inside the truck. To gain proper access, you'll need to perform several steps under the hood. Start by always disconnecting the negative battery terminal to avoid any potential electric shock. Use a 13mm socket to remove the bolts securing the battery box and tray. Then, on the passenger's side firewall, use a 10mm socket to loosen the bolt holding the PCM connector before feeding it through the firewall. Next, remove the interior passenger's side kick panel to finish detaching the PCM from within the F-150's cabin.
