The ECU in the 2000 Toyota Tundra is situated near the gas pedal, close to the steering column. This computer system relies on a network of sensors to oversee various aspects of your engine's operation such as fuel economy, emissions, and fuel injection. Spark timing is one critical function of the engine control unit, ensuring precise ignition of the fuel/oxygen mixture. If the timing is off, it could lead to severe engine misfires. If you experience intermittent engine stalling while starting the car or idling at red lights, it may indicate a problematic ECU.
