Since 2007, the Chevy Impala has had its fuel filter located inside the fuel pump within the gas tank, making it a part that cannot be easily serviced. The filter is meant to last the entire lifespan of the vehicle. However, if not properly maintained or if exposed to debris, the permanent filters may become clogged, malfunction, and affect driving performance. Repairing this issue can be expensive as it requires dropping the entire gas tank and removing the fuel pump to replace the filter. To keep your Impala in top condition, it's recommended to change the synthetic oil every 7,500-10,000 miles or once a year. Ensure you use the correct octane fuel (regular, unleaded 87 octane) and schedule regular checkups that involve emissions inspections. By following a routine maintenance schedule, you can extend the reliability and longevity of your Impala.

Once again, there are some parts in front of the engine and some in the tank module. However, I have not seen any outside of the tank, except for the one stored in my garage that I am working on. I am installing a fuel tank pressure sensor.
