The fuel filter on the 2008 Chevrolet Suburban is located within the gas tank itself, integrated into the fuel pump. General Motors began this design change in 2005, swapping the traditional external fuel filter for an internal intake filter. If you need to replace it, you'll have to swap out the entire fuel pump, which involves lowering the gas tank. Signs that the fuel pump might be failing include engine stalling, particularly when idling at a red light, or if you notice engine misfires. In some cases, your Suburban may struggle to start initially but eventually does; these issues point to a potential problem with the pump.
