The fuel filter in the 2012 GMC Terrain is integrated into the fuel pump assembly. Typically located underneath the vehicle attached to the fuel rail, it is easily accessible with just a couple of bolts to remove. The replacement cost can vary, averaging between $200 and $800. In some instances, the filter and pump are within the gas tank, requiring a new tank for pump replacement, but still allowing for external filter installation. Prices for this type of repair are generally similar, possibly a bit higher than just replacing the pump.
In the 2012 GMC Terrain, you can find the fuel filter inside the gas tank, towards the rear left side of the car.
