Where can I find the fuel filter on an INFINITI FX35?

The fuel filter in an INFINITI FX35 is typically integrated with the fuel pump, which is usually located under the vehicle, connected to the fuel rail. Accessing it is fairly straightforward, as it is secured by just a couple of bolts that are easy to remove. The cost of replacing it can range from $200 to $800 on average. In certain instances, both the filter and pump are housed inside the gas tank. In such cases, a new gas tank may be required to replace the pump, but there should be external access for installing a new filter. The prices for this are similar, possibly a bit higher than just replacing the pump. If the pump is failing, you may experience difficulties with acceleration due to insufficient fuel delivery, and in some cases, the car may not start at all.

So, are you saying that in order to replace the fuel filter, I also have to replace the whole fuel pump as well? I've been using bioethanol in my FX35 with 170,000 miles, and it struggles to start in the winter. I'm thinking about changing the fuel filter to see if that helps.

The fuel filter in your INFINITI FX35 is situated within the fuel pump inside the fuel tank of your car, and it is designed to be maintenance-free.

Can a clogged fuel filter cause your car to run poorly, almost like it's having a seizure? I've installed new spark plugs and checked everything else, but it still runs erratically. This issue only started after I filled up at the gas station.

Hey there, slow down everyone. Let me clarify something about the 2008 Infiniti FX35 - it does not have a conventional fuel filter. Instead, it has a filter sock located on the distal side of the pump inside the tank. You can replace the filter sock or the pump, which typically includes a new sock, without having to replace the entire tank. Replacing the tank would be a major task for this car. To replace the filter, you just need to remove the rear seat bottom (using the release buttons), the access cover, and then the retainer ring holding the pump/fuel level sender assembly on the tank. Even with minimal knowledge of car mechanics, following a tutorial on YouTube and dedicating a couple of hours should enable anyone to perform this repair easily.
