The location of the fuel pump relay for a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac is in the fuse box to the left of the steering wheel. To access the fuse box, look for a small seam or crack along the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel. Using a screwdriver or prybar, gently open the panel. Inside, you will find a variety of fuses. On the back of the panel, there should be a diagram showing the purpose of each fuse. If the diagram is not present, you can refer to the owner's manual for the vehicle. Once you determine which fuse you need, remove it by pulling it out. Check if the thin strip of metal connecting the two raised sections of the fuse is intact. If it is broken, the fuse is damaged and needs to be replaced. If the strip is unbroken, the fuse is in good condition and can be reinserted. New fuses are affordable, typically costing about $10 each.
