To access the fuse box in your car, look to the left side of the steering wheel and search for a small seam or crack along the dashboard. Use a screwdriver or prybar to open this panel. Inside, you will find a collection of fuses. On the back of the panel you opened, there should be a diagram that outlines the purpose of each fuse. If the diagram is not present, you can refer to the vehicle's owner's manual for the information. Once you identify the needed fuse, remove it by pulling it out. Check for a thin strip of metal connecting the two raised sections of the fuse. If this strip is broken, the fuse is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the strip is intact, the fuse is still functional and can be reinserted. Replacement fuses are typically inexpensive, costing around $10.
