In a 2001 Ford F-150, you can find the fuse for the taillights in the fuse box inside the passenger compartment. Located underneath the headlight switch on the driver's side of the passenger area, you can remove the fuse box panel by placing your fingers in the indentation and pulling it out. The fuse itself is a flat blade style, which you can extract with your fingers or a fuse puller tool for easier removal. Check the thin metal strip on the side of the fuse to see if it is blown. If it is, be sure to replace it with a fuse of the same amperage rating to prevent overheating of the wiring and a potential fire hazard.
