The Idle Air Control Valve (IAC) of the 2012 Kia Rio is located on the throttle body, which can be found within the engine bay and under the hood. To locate it, first find the black air filter box near the driver's side of the firewall, then follow the intake hose to the throttle body. It will be situated below a large hose. The IAC valve's role is to regulate the oxygen supply to the Kia Rio's engine to facilitate ignition. Maintaining the right oxygen/fuel mixture is crucial for efficient combustion in the engine. Over time, both the IAC valve and throttle body can get dirty and blocked due to the high volume of air and fuel they process. If the IAC valve malfunctions, the engine may experience rough idling, erratic timing, and even stalling.
