The location of the Mazda3 speed sensor is on the back right side of the transmission near the tail end, within the vehicle's engine compartment. The transmission holds significant importance in a vehicle's operation and is prone to issues over time. Gears might get stuck, and it's crucial to address any leaks in transmission fluid promptly. Problems like jerking, delayed shifts affecting acceleration, and harsh gear changes can arise, leading to potential slipping or shuddering. It is recommended to replace the transmission fluid every 30,000 to 60,000 miles to avoid complications such as strange noises emanating from the transmission due to old fluid. A deteriorating torque converter can become a major concern.
In the Mazda 3, you can find the speed sensor over by the tail shaft on the right rear side of the transmission under the car's hood.
