The special key needed to unlock the wheel nuts on a Honda CR-V is stored in the back cargo area underneath the trunk lining mat alongside the spare tire tools. While locking lug nuts won't completely prevent theft, they could be a worthwhile purchase if you frequently park in areas prone to theft. Without the key, locking nuts can seem like a waste of money until someone tries to steal your wheels. These nuts usually come with a code, allowing owners to order a replacement key from the manufacturer. If you don't have the code, most shops have tools that can remove the nuts for you.

I can't find the key for the locks on my car tires, and it's really frustrating. The dealer gave me a pack of locks with a key that I never used. When a tire shop called me during an oil change and attempted to rotate the wheels, they found out there were already locks on the tires. The shop couldn't unlock the tires and couldn't find the key anywhere. I've searched the spare tire area multiple times, but still can't find it. My only option now is to bring it to the dealer, which is a hassle, especially with the current Covid situation.

I'm not talking about those fake labels that dealers sometimes stick on during the car's preparation process. Just so you know, different dealers can place them in various locations. In fact, I've noticed that even technicians within the same dealership might have slight variations in their preparation methods, and occasionally they may overlook putting items in their correct spots.
