In a 2004 Honda Civic LX, the main relay can be found inside the fuse box. To access the fuse box, look to the left of the steering wheel and search for a small seam or crack along the dash. You can use a screwdriver or prybar to open it. Inside the fuse box, there are multiple fuses. The back of the panel you opened should have a diagram showing the purpose of each fuse. If the diagram is not there, you can also refer to the owner's manual for the vehicle. Once you determine which fuse you need, simply remove it. Check if the thin metal strip connecting the two raised sections of the fuse is intact; a broken strip means the fuse is no longer functional and needs to be replaced. If the strip is unbroken, the fuse is still good and can be reinserted. The cost of new fuses is typically around $10, making them quite affordable.
