The 2001 Toyota Tacoma is equipped with an OBD-II port located to the left of the steering wheel, in the driver's side footwell. It should be positioned under the kick panel near where your left foot would be. If you have the max trailering package, there will be a brake controller on the left side of the dashboard which might partially block the OBD-II port, but rest assured that it's still accessible. Some models may have a port under the hood in the engine compartment, but many drivers find they cannot establish a connection there.
My OBD2 port is situated approximately 5 inches below my emergency brake, right beside my 12-volt outlets. It is positioned on the lower dashboard above the gas pedal.
The 2001 Tacoma's obd port can be found on the driver's side beneath the dashboard close to the fuse box.
