To find the oil dipstick on a 2013 BMW 528i, pop the hood and look around the engine bay near the oil pan. Look for a yellow-handled dipstick and gently pull it out, being careful not to spill any oil on the engine. Wipe the oil off with a paper towel, put the dipstick back in until it's fully inserted, then pull it out again to check the oil level. The level should fall between the high and low markers. Once you know where it stands, secure the dipstick back in place. If the oil is low, unscrew the oil tank's cap, add the necessary amount of oil, and seal the cap back on tightly.
BMW got rid of the dipstick and swapped it out for sensors that detect low oil levels.
The spot where you can find the oil dipstick for a 2013 BMW 528i is located under the hood, close to the oil pan.
