On an Audi A4, there is no oil dipstick for checking the oil level. Instead, you must use the center dash display. When getting ready to change the oil, ensure that the car has been parked and turned off for a couple of hours to avoid the hot oil which can cause burns. Locate the oil pan and drain plug under the engine compartment. Place a bucket beneath the plug and remove it to let the oil drain into the pan, which may take up to an hour. After it stops dripping, replace the drain plug and find the intake port on the top of the oil pan. Fill the oil pan using a funnel, being careful not to overfill. It's better to be a bit under than to risk leaks and oil burning off. Once full, close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and you're done.
