The 2011 Ford F-150's output shaft speed sensor is situated on the passenger side of the vehicle towards the rear of the transmission, near where the driveshaft emerges. To locate the sensor, simply track the wire running to the top of it because it's the sole sensor in that location. This particular sensor gauges the rotational speed of the driveshaft to assist in determining the vehicle's speed. The data is then relayed to the ECU, which subsequently transmits it to the speedometer in your truck. If the speedometer isn't functioning properly, it's advisable to examine both the wiring leading to the sensor and the sensor itself for any indications of damage that might impede its operation.
