Your 2011 Ford Edge has four oxygen sensors. There is one sensor located on each side just beneath the exhaust manifold, and another on each side behind the second catalytic converters, which are situated near the back of the front doors. To determine which sensor is malfunctioning, the sensor on bank one will be on the same side as the first spark plug, usually on the driver's side. The second sensors are positioned after the catalytic converter. Oxygen sensors typically last up to 100,000 miles, so if you are experiencing issues well before that milestone and are receiving an error code indicating a problem, consider that there may be other underlying causes. If you opt to take your vehicle to a repair shop, expect to pay anywhere from a few hundred to around three hundred dollars for both labor and parts. Alternatively, if you decide to purchase and install the sensor yourself, you can usually find a new one like the BOSCH15383 Oxygen Sensor for approximately $32, excluding shipping and taxes.
