In the 2016 Jeep Cherokee, you can find the power steering fluid reservoir located in the power steering pump within the engine bay. It is recommended to change the power steering fluid every 75,000 miles. In addition to regular fluid changes, be attentive to any unusual noises coming from the steering components. A faulty bearing can produce an unpleasant sound, while a loose bearing can be quite bothersome. Maintaining proper steering functionality is crucial for safe maneuvering on the road, such as changing lanes smoothly. Despite vigilant maintenance, issues may arise over time. Symptoms like a stuck steering wheel, directional drifting, fluid leaks, and a loose steering pump could indicate impending trouble for your vehicle. Keep an eye out for potential problems like bad strut bearings or a faulty rack mount.

That's a clever observation, Jerome. Jeep has introduced an electronic power steering system for some Grand Cherokee models, eliminating the need for a power steering fluid reservoir. This shift to an electric system means that the steering is now cooled by antifreeze coolant. This change has resulted in some Grand Cherokee models not having a power steering fluid reservoir. For example, in my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, there is an empty space on the driver's side of the vehicle next to the air filter.

The power steering fluid for the 2016 Jeep Cherokee can be found in the power steering pump within the engine compartment.

I doubt you actually have a Jeep, Jerome. It’s best not to talk about things you’re not sure of. My 2016 Grand Cherokee WK2 75th anniversary edition comes with electric power steering, so there's no pump or reservoir in the engine compartment.
