Where can I find the spare key for the Ford Escape?

In the 2017 Ford Escape, the remote slot can be found on the center console, whereas in 2018 and newer models, it is situated in the front cup holder. If your key fob runs out of power, you can use the backup start method by placing the fob in the designated spot and pressing the start/stop ignition button. Make sure to clear out any other objects in the center console tray or cup holder before inserting your fob. These slots can also be used to program keys through the MyKey system. To program a key, place the desired intelligent access key in the backup slot, turn the ignition to ON, access the MyKey option in the Settings menu, and select Create MyKey. Press and hold the OK button until prompted to label the key. This key is programmed with safety settings, while the admin key retains the ability to override any settings.

In the 2017 Ford Escape, you'll find the backup key slot located on a little tray at the front of the center console. However, in the 2018 and 2019 models of the Ford Escape, the backup slot can be found in the front cup holder. Look for wavy lines at the bottom of the cup holder resembling radio waves, and place the key inside this slot.
