The speed sensors on a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee are found on the transmission. There are two sensors - the input shaft speed sensor and the output shaft speed sensor. They are both located on the transmission facing the front of the vehicle. The input shaft speed sensor is on the left above the label while the output shaft speed sensor is on the right. To replace the input shaft sensor, you'll need a half-inch wrench to loosen the bracket holding the cable in front of the sensor. Remove the two bolts from the bracket and slide it out of the way to access the 8-millimeter bolt holding the sensor in place. Disconnect the electrical connection, then remove the bolt and slide the sensor out. The output shaft sensor is simpler - just use an 8-millimeter socket to remove the bolt with no obstructions in your way.
The speed sensors for the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee can be found at the wheel bearing hubs on all four wheels.
