To begin troubleshooting the starter in a 2010 Mazda CX-9, start by raising the hood after pulling the hood release latch on the driver's side. Once the hood is secured, locate the starter on the lower right side of the engine, which may be somewhat obstructed by other components. Use a flashlight if needed to pinpoint the starter in this vicinity. For a replacement starter, expect to spend between $100 and $175. Opting for an OEM starter is recommended for optimal performance.
