The location of the starter relay for a 2003 Chevy Impala can be found in the fuse box under the hood. To access the fuse box under the car's hood, first open the hood and secure it. On the right side of the engine compartment, there will be a black box with a seam around it. Open this box to locate the fuse. The back of the lid of the box will have a diagram showing which fuse is for what. If the diagram is not on the box lid, you can refer to the owner's manual. Once you identify the fuse you need, carefully remove it. Check if the thin metal strip connecting the two raised sections of the fuse is intact. If the strip is broken, the fuse needs to be replaced. If the strip is intact, the fuse is still good and can be reinstalled. Replacement fuses typically cost around 10 dollars, making them affordable.
