In a 2008 Ford Explorer, you'll find the starter relay in the fuse box located in the engine compartment. The fuse box sits on the inner fender near the brake booster. Once you take off the cover, look for the starter relay positioned farthest to the right or nearest to the firewall at the top. If you're experiencing starter problems, one trick to try is having someone turn the ignition while tapping on the relay to free it if it's stuck. The relay is powered by a 30-amp JCASE cartridge fuse located in the very first row to the far left, specifically the third one down from the top.
