The starter relay location for the BMW X5 e70 is situated under the dashboard panel, just below the glove box near the front passenger's floor. Over time, this component may lose effectiveness. It's recommended to change the battery every 50,000 to 60,000 miles to ensure smooth operation of your car. While this maintenance may incur some costs, it's necessary to invest in to keep your vehicle functioning properly. Battery issues are common throughout the lifespan of the car, such as total depletion requiring a recharge or replacement. Leaks can also occur, resulting in fluid leakage and rapid draining of the battery. If the case gets cracked, it will need a complete replacement.

I opened up the fuse box beneath the dashboard and found only two tiny green relays.

Occasionally, my car starts and runs fine, but then it stalls and won't restart when it gets warm. If I let it sit overnight, it sometimes starts again, but now it's having trouble cranking up at all. Instead of going to the dealer, do you have any suggestions on fixing this issue? Please reply with any ideas.

My 2011 X5 faces a similar problem where the starter tends to quickly engage and disengage once the engine or starter warms up, causing difficulties in starting the engine. Despite replacing the battery and starter, as well as getting the alternator checked (which came back fine), it seems like there may be an issue with the electronics cutting off power to the starter motor. Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. - Neil

I haven't been able to solve the issue yet. Despite replacing the computer, Cas3 module, and key - all of which are compatible - the vehicle still won't start or turn over.

I own a BMW X5 e70 as well. It was running fine, but when I turned it off and tried to start it the next morning, it wouldn't start - just clicking noises. I think the clicking sound is coming from the CAS 3 module. Any suggestions on what might be wrong with my vehicle?

I took out the glove compartment and found there's no relay in there. Instead, I only found the BCM and another box that manage the CAN bus and the central locking system beneath the glove compartment.

Hey, Frank, did you manage to figure it out yet? I'm experiencing the same problem where it won't start right after I turn it off until it cools down a bit.
