The VW Touareg's starter relay is located in the fuse box. This vehicle uses a timing chain, not a timing belt, which is meant to last for the entire lifespan of the car. However, it is possible for the timing chain to get damaged or fail, leading to immediate overheating of the car. If replacement is necessary, expect to spend around $100 for the new part and another $100 for labor. Caution is advised when purchasing online, as some sellers may mistakenly label both timing chains and timing belts as cam belts. Using a timing belt instead of a timing chain would be ineffective and result in a wasted purchase.
