To find the starter solenoid on your 2001 Ford Windstar, you'll have to either pop the hood or get under the van. It's easier to locate if you jack up your vehicle and crawl underneath, but I understand that might not always be doable. If you do raise it, use a 2 1/2 to 3 ton jack. The solenoid is located to the right of the starter. A new one will run you anywhere from $20 to $35.
