The 2015 Chevy Cruze comes with two H2 coolant temperature sensors, one located on the passenger side of the radiator and the other on the water outlet of the vehicle. An overheating issue can arise if the thermostat or coolant sensor fails. A malfunctioning sensor can lead to inaccurate monitoring of coolant and engine temperatures by the car's main computer or ECU. Common causes of overheating also include leaks of antifreeze from the reservoir, water pump, or radiator hoses. Leaking antifreeze can cause the radiator to not function properly. If the engine fan is not working, engine temperatures can quickly increase, possibly due to a faulty fan clutch, blown fuses, an aging motor, low antifreeze levels, or as a result of a temperature sensor failure.
