In a 2014 GMC Acadia, the thermostat can be found underneath the air filter housing. To replace it, start by draining the radiator fluid from the car. Crawl under the front of the vehicle, locate the bottom hose on the driver's side of the radiator, and remove it to allow the fluid to drain into a container. This is also a good time to replace the air filter located within the air filter housing and the duct leading to the throttle body. After removing the engine cover, unscrew the oil fill cap and lift the cover off to access the thermostat housing. Remove the plastic cover over the thermostat housing to reach the thermostat. You will need a 10mm and 15mm socket as well as some pliers to complete this task effectively.
