To access the torque converter clutch solenoid on a 2003 Honda Civic, it's suggested to disconnect the battery first for better reach. Although you could potentially reach it without removing the battery, navigating would be easier with more space. This solenoid is positioned on top of the automatic transmission case. While it may cost around $120, replacing it should be a relatively straightforward task that most car enthusiasts can finish in a couple of hours or less.
