The transmission control module for the 2004 Jeep Liberty is located at the top of the transmission housing, connected to it by wiring. It is a small black box with a wire harness. If you're experiencing difficulties with shifting between gears, the issue may be related to the transmission control module. This component manages the gear changes to ensure that the engine and transmission speeds stay in sync. A failure of the control module will trigger a check engine light on your dashboard, signaling to the ECU that there is a problem.
The transmission control module for the 2004 Jeep Liberty can be found positioned at the top of the transmission casing.
I own a 2004 Jeep Liberty Sport and I have to replace the transmission control module. How simple is it to access and remove that black box to replace it? Thank you.
You all are mistaken. It can be found on the driver's side of the transmission.
Is it located on the inner right fender or on top of the transmission housing?
The Liberty tcm can be found inside the engine compartment, specifically on the right side inner fender.
