Many new owners of the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze may be surprised to discover that the trunk release button is not in its usual location on the lower left side of the dashboard. To unlock the trunk, you have two options. The first is to use the trunk release button on the key fob, which is the most convenient method if you have the key fob with you. Another option is to locate the touch-sensitive button on the underside of the trunk just above the license plate. While it may be challenging to find initially, once you are aware of its location, it will no longer be an issue. Additionally, for safety purposes, there is a trunk release on the interior of the trunk as well.

I'm having trouble locating the button to open my trunk on the driver's side door! Can someone help me find it?
Juan J, you're mistaken. The only way to open the trunk is with the FOB or the button located above the license plate.
I am having trouble locating the latch to open my car's trunk on the door.
There isn't a button in the car itself; it can only be found on the key fob or above the license plate. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble getting the button above the license plate to work, it seems to be stuck. As a result, my only choice is to climb through the backseat to access the trunk.
How to go about resetting the emergency release for the trunk
It's not written in all capital letters, no.
I am facing a similar issue with the remote control working only intermittently in my car. Despite changing the battery, the back door trunk now cannot open.
What might be the reason why the release mechanism for the back of my truck isn't functioning properly?
The only trunk release button, in addition to the one on the key fob, is located directly under the trunk lid, just above the license plate. However, you need to ensure that your key fob is nearby for the button to function correctly, as it must be able to detect the fob in order to unlatch the trunk.
Underneath the center of the back of the car above the license plate is a button that won't function unless your remote key fob is nearby, either inside the car or in your pocket. This is because the trunk button needs to detect your fob in order to work. Additionally, there is a trunk button located at the bottom of your key fob.
