In a Chevy Express, the body control module is located beneath the steering column at the center of the dashboard. You can easily spot it as a large piece of plastic with a significant wire harness attached to it. This module is responsible for managing the windows, door locks, and alarm system of the van. If you encounter any issues with these functions, the problem may lie with the body control module. To diagnose it, you can use an OBD II scan tool to check for any error codes. In my 2016 Chevy Express 3500 LT, the BCM is not located where most online guides say it is. I found it behind the passenger side knee guard. To access it, you'll need to remove two 10mm bolts and take off the guard. Then, grab a small flat head screwdriver to carefully pry out the plastic tabs on the carrier housing. Press firmly on the housing and use the screwdriver to release each tab individually. Be cautious not to accidentally push back any tabs you've already freed. Once all tabs are released, push the unit up and towards the engine, as it is hinged in that position. Then, pull it down to remove the BCM.

The 2005 Chevy Express 2500's Body Control Module (BCM) is located directly underneath the dashboard on the passenger side.

I removed the knee guard from the right side of my 2016 Express van and found the body control module clearly visible. Thank you for providing that information.
